Cons of Urine Tests: The specimen can be adulterated, substituted, or diluted thus affecting the results. They have a limited window of detection, which ranges from 1 to 5 days and are considered as invasive or embarrassing form of alcohol testing. They pose a biological hazard when they are shipped to the lab. A positive urine test does not mean that the person was under the influence of alcohol during the time of the test, but rather, it detects the measure and use of alcohol within the previous day or so, and with some special testing methods, up to 80 hrs.
