Tips for Tenants Moving Into an Apartment

If you are moving to any one of the Orlando apartments you need to follow these tips for making your new apartment life easy and simple.
  • When you move into an apartment, you have to preserve a record of events that may be very important to you later.
  • At the beginning of the tenancy, the landlord is entitled to charge you a first month's rent, a last month's rent, a security deposit. Make sure the last month's rent and security deposit should each be the same amount as the first month's rent.
  • The purchase or installation cost of a lock or key. The law does not authorize a key deposit or any other kind of deposit.
  • After you move in, conduct a comprehensive inspection and inventory of the condition of the apartment and make a complete record of its condition.
  • If you gave a security deposit, the landlord is required to give you a statement of the condition of the apartment.
  • Take this seriously and record even scratches and nail holes in the walls. The landlord may later accuse you of causing any condition which you don't list.
Make sure you keep all the copies of these statements and any additional list you send the landlord. Make sure you keep important records in a safe place. Don't leave them out in the open. Important tenancy records left out in the open have been known to disappear mysteriously, right around the time the landlord was in the apartment for some reason. If possible, keep a set of copies of these records at some location off the premises. These records are important, and not having them could cost you money later.

My Week in Pop

I would like to share what pop culture I have had this week.
The best TV show I saw this week was Torchwood. I am already into this BBC America series after only couple of episodes. If you have not yet seen, catch the premiere on demand, and then see the rest. I also enjoyed Tell Me You Love Me, Damages, The Best Years, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Live with Regis and Kelly.

Now about the best CD I heard. Generally I am known to new bands here, but this week I am holding to Ani DiFranco, who released her show, Canon, this week. I didn’t hear a lot of these tracks since college, so it was great to sing in my car to songs like Shy, Gravel and Untouchable Face after all these years.

Best movie I’ve seen was Deep Water. I have to give credit to my spouse for this one: He lobbied to see this documentary about the 1968 boat race around the world, and it ended up being one of the most gripping films I have seen in longer time. You will not get disappointed watching it, so go watch it with out investigating much about it.

When it comes to reading I am reading The Sixties. I am also reading The Three Paradoxes and I really like it. Also reading the new issue of Magnet magazine and I just finished an early copy. So, what's getting you excited this week? Please share with the crowds.
