Different Types of Major Home Appliances

A major appliance also called as domestic appliance is a large, complex machine which is used to perform routine housekeeping task, which includes purposes such as cooking or food preservation. They can also be used for household, institutional, commercial or industrial setting. All these major home appliances use electricity to function, these are generally called as white goods in UK.

Major home appliances are large, difficult to move and generally fixed in place to some extent. Some devices requires more amount of electricity than normal standard.

There are many different types of major home appliances and some of which are given below:

• One of the category of these devices used in the kitchen for cooling purposes and storing the food groceries is the refrigeration system which includes both the freezers and refrigerators.
• Other category is for heating the food and these devices are also used for cooking the food. Electric stoves, heaters, microwave oven, induction cooker, cooking plate etc. comes under this category.
• Washing equipment includes the washing machines used to wash the clothes and clothe dryers used for drying the clothes This category also includes dish washer which is used to wash the kitchen utensils.
• Other devices like air conditioners, water heater, vacuum cleaners, water purifier, air purifier, televisions etc. also comes under the major home appliances.

Major appliances have become more technically complex, meaning that the appliances have been forced to become more and more efficient leading to more accurate controllers in order to meet the regulations.
