It is more interesting to add a water garden to your home. The sound and sight of water gives a pleased feeling for you and your guests. Water is an appealing element enhancing the beauty of the garden. A water garden can include waterfalls, fountains and small ponds. It can also include combinations of rock work, lighting, plants and fish.
The first thing you need to think when planning for a water garden is its size. Decide the size based on the amount you can afford for the garden. This is because it includes addition of plants, rocks, fish, lighting and so on which can increase the costs. Select a right place in your garden area. The plants and also fish need plenty of sunlight. Therefore, places with direct light away from trees and bushes are appropriate. It also avoids the leaves and debris from being collected in water. The place should be in such a way that the aquatic plants and fish get 6-8 hours of direct sunlight everyday.
Mostly a pond is created in a garden area. Water fountains and waterfalls add a sparkling effect in the garden. You can even add some fish, frogs, snails, turtles and frogs to a pond. Features like rockwork, lighting and others can be added based on the size of the pond, your budget, style of the landscape and even the purpose of the garden pond. Do not get worried that you can create a water garden only with a pond or any other large space. It is also possible to have a water garden in a concrete dish, plastic tub, half barrel or anything else that can hold water.
